R+D law on tax reduction for companies
Did you know that Chilean companies are entitled to a reduction of more than 50% of the first category tax when they invest in Research and Development (R+D)?
This is established by the R+D Law (Law No. 20,570), whose objective is to help improve the competitive capacity of Chilean companies and, in this way, increase the percentage of GDP that the country invests in R+D.
This tax incentive law allows for a reduction of up to 52.55% of the first category tax on resources allocated to research and development activities carried out with its own capabilities or by contracting a specialized center registered in the CORFO Registry.
Manifestations of intent to make use of the R+D Law and certification requests can be submitted to Corfo at any time of the year.
